I’ve noticed that I post here increasingly rarely, even though I have some recent shots that I could post here. When I think about it I can see two reasons of that situation. One is almost permanent lack of time – and all free time I have I spend on other things which cannot wait like bills, invoices, orders, finding right product in reasonable price or for some other official and official tasks. The rest of the free time I just spend to check the photo blogs or just read the news. After that I just don’t feel like processing the photos and writing the post. And why is that ? Well it’s a consequence of the changed formula of this photoblog. At first it was the place where I could just post one or two photos from camera or phone to show what is currently happening around me, or I could just post a few selected frames from the whole trip. There is no much problem or time spend for such short post. After I moved to the WordPress with hope to have platform with easy posting articles and photos I planned to post bigger posts – whole stories – for example I wanted to write one post about my recent trip or event. I wanted also to work harder with post processing and selection of photos to choose only the best from the collection. And it became a problem. When I return from a trip like recent one to Vienna I have a few big catalogs full of photos waiting for selection and rejecting all the crap. I need time for that. And now we return to the first reason: lack of time…
Well probably I don’t have many fans and frequent visitors so I don’t have to afraid that I will loose my audience by lack of the new posts. Of course we can look at it from the other side: the longer You wait for the next post the more You are happy to see it :)
Today I post some photos from our recent short trip to Vienna. It was going to be our late September holiday. Unfortunately it became a small disaster. Instead of having the rest and peaceful sightseeing Vienna we had a lot of unpleasant attractions. The beginning was great – great weather late afternoon when we came. But on the next day it was raining all day, okay we thought – tomorrow the weather will be better. The next day was a big disappointment – it was raining second day straight… continuously. We decided to visit some places, but It’s unpleasant to walk around the city during such weather. Of course not all the photos have to be taken during the sun (well, except that I was prepared and took 5 rolls of slide film with hope to catch some beautiful colors) – but it’s not nice thing to walk with wet shoes around.
3rd day fortunately was bearable with a good weather (no rain this time) and we managed to see some places but the next day we had to move to another place from our reserved earlier apartment and we have to reserve very small room for one night – it was our mistake we haven’t checked the area of the room – and the room on the photos looked okay. It’s really tiring living having such small room. There might be maybe about 6 to 10 square meters including the bathroom. And from then it started to be worse and worse. Next almost all day we spend at the hospital so instead of sightseeing we were becoming accustomed to the Austrian health care. Blessing in disguise we dealt with a great people there. Fortunately we were prepared (European Health Insurance Card). Next day we visited the same place again, fortunately this time just for the examination… And there was it – the end of holiday – we decided to go back home as quick as possible.
What’s more there were more smaller events between those big ones – I just can say some keywords like fighting with parking ticket, loosing the shoes or some arguments…
Well we returned more tired from that trip that before that holidays. Fun don’t you think?
Ok, after the story time to say something about the photographic side of the trip. I must say that I like Vienna. I can find many things there which I like. On the top of the list are Wien U-Bahn, trams, wurstkiosks, and wheat beer. I see also many things which I don’t like in that city but i think that there are more positive ones.
I really love taking photos in the subway – Wien U-Bahn. There are many interesting lines, stations and corridors. It’s really great especially when you compare Wien U-Bahn network to Warsaw’s one and only one metro line. I’m happy that they building the second line – I will have choice which one to go.
I took some interesting photos during first tow rainy days – umbrellas are really interesting in black and white. By the way – I recommend to watch the full size photos – just click on the photo and use the cursors or mouse to navigate. Photos will look much better when not scaled down.
I’ve added as a bonus three photos from Warsaw – taken just before the Vienna trip.
And now three photos from Warsaw:
Very nice pictures. Great composition. And I freaking love the “Laurenzgasse Tram Stop” one for its climate like in 8-bit computer game. :-D
