That Sunday I found out that there is once again some gathering and crosses in front of presidential palace (The Cross – symbol of Smoleńsk, death of PL president L. Kaczyński). Some people mounted the wooden cross, they put the photos of pope JPII and Lech Kaczyński underneath and the note ‘defend the cross from Gievont to the Baltic Sea’ (from Tatra mountains in the south to the North of Poland – Baltic Sea). They all prayed there usually with rosaries in their hands. They also wanted to infect with their not-so-healthy ideas the thoughts of the passers by.
In the background you can see quite interesting display of photos called ‘biało-czerwona‘ (white and red /Polish flag/) -it was prepared for the quite new holiday of polish national flag (white and red) on 2nd of may. It was quite nice – it was a little bit patriotic display – it was nice warm feeling to see the polish flag on the wind at the Spitsbergen, or South American Glaciers or other foreign, cold part of the world.
So it was a strange contrast.
To add another funny thing here – those protests are repeated every month on the day when the plane crashed (10th of April), and during the Euro 2012 in the luxury Hotel Bristol which is next to the presidential palace will be living the national football team of Russia… Probably fans will be also here… I’m thinking maybe they will also want to say their thoughts about that.
OK. Take a look at the photos.
