Currently I’m in the middle of camera sell-buy process that’s why currently I’m owner of the nice Rolleiflex/Yashica collection :) . On the photos there is no Yashica Mat camera which is already packed and waiting for postage. Unfrotunately it’s temporary state, as I cannot afford for the all of them. Some – like Baby Rolleiflex came to my ownership just for tests and when sold to the new owner to cover at least partially expenses of the new-old model of the Rollei. Mine target was of course Rolleiflex 2.8 with Planar or Xenotar lens with f/2.8. Recently I’ve managed to hunt down one :). It’s not in the perfect state – it needs cleaning and small service because I cannot set the time 1/500 – the scale blocks between 1/250 and 1/500, and the most important – the lens doesn’t have the anti-reflex coating, and the taking lens have a small scratches :( and mostly because of that the price of this camera was acceptable.
Because of it’s high price I have to sell some cameras from my collection to cover the expenses. I’ve just selled the baby Rollei, and the Yashica Mat is waiting for the new owner. And it’s not the end. In the queue are waiting some lens: Makinon 80-200 FD (already at auction), as well as I plan to sell one or two FD Canon lens. In fact I have three similar lens – it’s the result of trying to buy on ebay Canon FD 1.4. I was so good that I’ve managed to buy two of them :) newer (smaller and lighter) and older version. I have also the f/1.8 version which takes really nice photos. Now they are waiting for the tests. I plan to do some tests with those lens to choose the best one. Those 1.4 versions will be compared to the old 1.8 which was taking really nice sharp photos.
I’m also considering selling the Rolleiflex Auto, for now I’m going to keep it, however having two similar cameras doesn’t have sense. Probably one of them will be just laying on the shelf. If that Rolleiflex 2.8C will be as good as I’m hoping it will be – it will become mine the only one TLR Camera…
I only hope that this scratches and this coating problem won’t affect the photos… we’ll see quite soon.
Well time to boast a little bit with a new toy :)
And now some details before the photos” It’s the Rolleiflex version 2.8C (Type 1) Serial number 1299644 with Schneider-Kreuznach Xenotar lens (1:2,8/80). Lens serial number 3602267 indicates that production date of this camera is between May 1952 and October 1954, so that means that camera has between 57 and 59 years…
