Again, i was trying to use Canon 75-300 IS however, it’s too dark in Warsaw’s Kolo Sports Hall for that lens. And AF often misses photographed object. Better results are with use of old Pentacon lens with mount m42 for Zenit Analogue Camera. The big adventage of that lens is aperture F2.8. It’s fully manual lens. In the hall i had no choice as to set ISO to 1600 and F to 2.8 to have times short enough to ‘freeze moments’ and don’t have washed photos. In that case Aperture Priority setting must be used in camera, because there is no time for manual shutter setting. Despite Av setting there is a lot of work to catch the focus right, because as i’ve said earlier it’s fully manual lens. You have to turn about 270 degrees from 0.5m to infinity to the right. Believe me it’s very difficult to catch focus on quick moving basketball players as you can see it on photos below. Propably it’s the matter of experience and trainning, but i don’t know if i will have enough patience and occasions to train. However some photos are quite interesting in that low light conditions.
