I planned for a long time to go to Włocławek to take some photos of Old Hospital in Włocławek at Szpitalna/Wyszyńskiego street. It’s a very nice building, however the hospital was moved to the modern building in the outskirts of Włocławek, and that building was forgotten. For a while there were some kind of health centre but now it’s abandoned and turn into ruin. What a pity don’t have photos of that hospital when it looked better – but I wanted to take the shots of this building before it will be demolished. It’s state clearly shows that in nobody interest is to renovate that old hospital. What a pity – it could be such a nice building.
After short investigation I found out that the building is from the XIX century (In 1823 the hospital started it’s work) and it’s old metropolitan hospital of (Saint) św Antoniego. I’ve read that condition of that building is very bad and probably they let to demolish the building, and they build a new one with similar size and which ‘fits to the historical surroundings of the area’ – yeah right :/
Below you can see photos in B&W – probably the last photos of that building in that form.
And here the old hospital in color from different angles. What a pity I couldn’t enter inside or check it from the other side – from the parking and the park.
And here as a bonus two a little different photos. On the first one there is a nice manhole from Włocławek which I found near the Hospital. It’s perfect to my collection. You can see the logo and the name of Włocławek’s waterworks and sewage system (MPWiK – Miejskie Przedsiębiorstwo Wodociągów i Kanalizacji 1935-2005). Nice one.
Second photo shows the bus stop in one of the villages near Płock- Brwino Dolne – Bus Stop towards the Nowy Duninów.
