Previous weekend was the special night – the museum night. This year was a lot of attractions, however I was discouraged by the queues which as always were gonna be in front of almost all popular museums. This year we chose the railway museum in Warsaw and the exhibition of the old trams at the Narutowicza Square.
In that post I’ll show you the photos from the Railway Museum where the highlight that night was the WWII armoured train. Unfortunately as my friend said it’s not an original Polish Armoured Train because all were destroyed during and after the war, but the captured in 1945 German one painted in Polish national colours. But what is interesting – it’s the only one in Europe !
The disadvantage of the sightseeing during the museum night is the huge amount of people wandering around as well like you don’t feel like reading all the exhibited item’s descriptions during the night. But as you can see on the photos it’s worth to return the during the day… of course during the day the light won’t be so colourful like here with those spotlights.
Later you could go outside to see the exhibition on the open air and the armoured train itself. You can even enter inside. That night was the special night – normally whole year the train is closed and that night was the only occasion to see how was to be there.
Going farther you could see huge collection of the steam as well as old electrical locomotives. Really huge collection. What a pity that some locomotives are not in a good shape…
Now ht part with more modern history – eg. this ST44 locomotive – the last models where on the railroads just a few years ago. Probably you can even find one painted with the private companies colours.
