Finally i managed to prepare map of our travel to South America, and visiting Peru, Bolivia and Chile. It lasted so long probably because of that, that i’m too thorough. I even tried to pin exactly the points on map when we were sleeping or were the hostel was. Believe me it’s a lot of work to be such precise :) But now you can check that – you can magnify the map to maximum zoom and check on map of the city or satelite map where our hostel was. Feel free to zoom in and zoom out to check the track. Also i tried to show the track of our trekking, however the satelite photos are not detailed enough to recognize areas, but if i was sure that i was in that canyon, or point where we were crossing the river, i tried to show it by bending the lines of our trip. You can check also the lines – there are also descriptions of our travel, means of communication, adventures, and what we saw during that travel. The most problematic was to show exactly places where we were sleeping during our trip in Salar de Uyuni, because we were travelling in wilderness and without map, with accomodation in small villages – it’s difficult to recognize it now. Howevewer some points are quite characteristic like for example the Incahuasi – coral island you can check it with satelite photo and even see the ticket office and tracks of landrovers. Also i was able to find bolivian customs, where we got on the bus to Chile – San Pedro de Atacama.
Really, feel free to explore. Later maybe i’ll add more photos to that map to illustrate all those places
First the biref map of whole trip (screenshot from the www.travellerspoint.com), you can also check there our trip (www.travellerspoint.com (wally_p)) – but better is too see it on google maps.
Below i embedded the map from google maps – detailed travel map of our trip with descriptions and comments. You can explore this map here, but i recommend to open it completely in new maximized window and then follow the points on the map. Link to the big map in new window is here: View Larger Map. Remember to click the lines also – threre is always a description – in trekking in Andes, really there is the main description :)
