Well finally back home after a quite long journey to the different part of the world… Even nowadays It takes some time to fly back from the area of the Middle America to Europe continent.
We are back and from that trip we have a lot of stories and we’ve visited a lot of different places – and as always a lot of photos from the digital and about 2 rolls from the traditional camera. Because the number of photos is quite scary (mostly because many nice locations visited) I will start chronologically from the almost newest events. Finally as the tiltle says this post will be about our way home.
Well it’s strange to start the story from the end, especially when you have to choose the point in time to start the ‘beginning of the end’. For example should I start from the day before the flight that we have to wait in a bar (fortunately it was an open free bar with our friends barmans) till 3 am to take the bus to the airport where our flight was at 6 to Milano in Italy in Europe? Should i mention that we were really tired waiting in the queue to the counter at the airport (also the bar thing could be the factor here) ? Or that, that while we were standing in the queue we had to prepare to the autumn conditions in Europe (really sunny day 8 celsius degrees) ? Especially while the same evening I was swimming during the warm evening (about 27 degrees) in the Caribbean Seaand then sitting at the table outdoors near the bar in only swimming pants. Well difficult to find the right the start for the ‘way home story’.
But for sure I have to mention that landing in Milano was only half of our way back home. Of course half when you think about time not the distance. From the Milano we had to take our car we left in the small city near by – Busto Arsizio – and drive almost 1700km back to Warsaw, Poland. Of course only if we could find our car after landing in Milano, without broken glass or illegal parking tickets or on equal probability it could be moved somewhere to the police parking by some local police or carabinieri as before the flight to the Caribbean we left the car close to the train station at the normal parking near the kids playground (I’ve check the color of the lines on the road which indicates whether parking is allowed and payable and of course I looked for the no parking signs about three times…).
Fortunately the car was there so we could go home. About 20h of driving with the short stops for sightseeing the small University City in Germany – Bayreuth (about 2h) and short sleep in the car at the highway (of course also with the adventures).
Here I will post some photos from the airborne part of our journey back home.
First the photos from the La Romana, Dominican Republic Airport photos during the waiting for our plane… later there should be the next parts…
Of course some compulsory photos from the plane… I couldn’t resist that of course
Can you guess where is it ? Of course that Italy. Two big coffee machines… with wonderful espresso… You have to try that. I REALLY would like to have such devil’s machine at home.
Those photos are from the Milano Malpensa Airport train station where you can go with quick modern and tidy train to the centre of Milano. We got off at the first stop – at the Busto Arsizio… then we saw that it wasn’t the same station we got in… so we had to manage to find the transport to the Busto Arsizio FS (local trains station) somehow – it was a little bit difficult as it was almost midnight. Finally we found a local guy who took us for 10Euro to the other station where luckily we found our car peacefully parked were we left it.
The baggage ticket – souvenir from the trip to Malpensa…
