California Pacific Coast w/YashicaMat

All the photos taken with YashicaMat 6×6 with quite rare taking and viewing lens Lumaxar (View-Lumaxar 1:3.2 f=80mm and Lumaxar 1:3.5 f=80mm #80753) and were made in the late 50s (probably around 1958). I don’t know am I right but they are probably a Tessar clones and they might be produced in West Germany.

The film is Fomapan 100 120mm, which now is one of the best affordable films around. Scanned with flatbed scanner V500 Photo with custom glass which allows to scan the photo with the black film frames around.

White dots which you can see on film is the result of the X-ray security scanner on the airport. They said that films with sensitivity lower than 1600 should be safe but as you can see it’s not true. Maybe because they were exposured for X rays many times – 4 flights, and at least 8 security checks. For sure the film cannot be put into the checked baggage – but as you can see even in cabin suitcase it’s not safe.

I’m not sure about the vertical lines though, I suspect that the glass is not correctly prepared and it’s the markings of the mechanical processing of the glass – it should be chemically etched glass. Second reason is that during the develop process the film was somehow scratched or during the taking photos when moving the film in the camera, the silver layer was scratched.
It’s easy to check with second scan of the film without the glass and film borders.
