Arequpa

Here some photos from Arequipa. Imagine that Arequipa lies about 3 times higher than Zakopane in Poland. (Zakopane 900 m asl – Arequipa 2325 m asl). Not mentioning about the highest peaks around the town or rather i should say in Poland – Rysy – 2499 m asl. So as you can see Arequipa is as high as the highest point in Poland. Here you can have in mind ‘soroche’ an altitude sickness. One way to get use to high altitudes is doing like the locals do – drinking mate de coca and chewing the coca leaves…
Arequipa lies in Andes, and around as are high peaks an volcanos as : El Misti 5820 m asl, or the Volcan Chacahni 6075m asl…
