On 30th of August there was an open day of the PKM railway. It started operational service on 1st of September, but on that day it was free for all visitors wanted to see how the line from Gdańsk Wrzeszcz to the Gdańsk Airport look like.
Opened connection from Gdańsk Wrzeszcz to Airport is part of the PKM – Pomorska Kolej Metropolitalna (Pomeranian Metropolitan Railway). It connects Lech Wałęsa Gdańsk Rębiechowo Airport with Gdańsk and Gdynia. You can also go to Kashuby region – Kościeżyna – Kartuzy.
On that day there were two trains going from Strzyża Station to Gdańsk Port Lotniczy station – one old steam train and second modern disel trains build by PESA company especially for the new PKM line. We were going there and back with the last train in the evening – with the PESA train – to check how comfortable the trip to airport will be.
I wanted to document every station from the window so you can check how the stations look like from the train.
